Python vs R for Data Science

Is Python better than R for Data Science?

R is built for data analysis, munging and visualisation. Also, it has wide variety of 3rd party packages for lots of things in various domains.

One the other hand, Python is a  general purpose programming language. It can be used for various tasks and one of them is data science.

Also, various R functionalities/packages were getting ported to Python. One notable package is Python Pandas. This package provides a lot of utilities for data analysis. 

There many other packages which are ported to Python. If available, Python packages is sufficient for your work. Hence, you may choose Python over R.
