Actually, in SAP HANA, it follows both columnar and Row structure-based. When compared to other RDBMS databases, it has many advantages as it reads data using columnar structures whereas for storing the data it needs a row-based structure.

Tables made in SAP HANA are made up of the column-based structure which reduces redundancy and increases the speed in reading the data for analyzing purposes and so it highlights HANA as the columnar based structure. But, do remember that SAP HANA is both the Row-based and Columnar based structure.
