Could someone tell me what is Amazon Cloudwatch?

Amazon CloudWatch is an AWS monitoring and management service which is designed for the purpose of maintaining the resources in use. Categorically, this is designed for developers, site reliability engineers, IT managers, and system operators to make their operations easier.

I can briefly explain its functionality:

Some of its major tasks are :

  • Collect - Has an inbuilt log service that allows you to store logs from applications, services, and resource being used by you
  • Monitor - One of its most important functions is to monitor the services and apps running. Cloudwatch converts a lot of data into visual graphs and charts rendering it easy for the user to find the root cause of faults and running status of services.
  • Analyze - Along with monitoring, the data generated can be analyzed for future purposes and can be used to make the required changes.
