What is the purpose of Azure Management Certificates?

How can I stop these thumbnails from populating on my certificate? What are they required for?

Certificates are essentially required for authenticating service management API requests. Tools and programs mainly use these certificates to automate the deployment of Azure services. 

These services may not be cloud-based entirely. 

These requests are usually automated as: 

1. They get created each time a publish setting file is downloaded.
2. Each time a VM is being connected using RDP, A management certificate is automatically created for it
