IDoc in SAP is an acronym for Intermediate document that helps to exchange information between SAP and other systems. IDocs are assigned with a unique number to identify and stored in the database.

IDoc contains three parts such as control record (contains the type, current status, etc.), Data record (contains data), Status record (contains status information)

There are two types of IDocs:

  • Basic
  • Extension
