What is blended axis in tableau?

When we want to analyze measures combinely in a single axis then Blended axis come in to effect. Like if you have only two measures to analyze then you can use dual axis, and if you have more than two measures then you can use blended axis. Because it uses only single pane and single marks card to visualize the data. In below screen shot it shows quarterly sales and profit.
