There are mainly two types of virtual machines having different functions such as system virtual machines and process virtual machines. System virtual machines provide full virtualization and replicate the actual machine. These have the functionality to share and manage hardware and allows multiple environments in the same machine. Process virtual machines have the functionality to execute computer programs in a platform-independent environment.
