Can anyone explain the route table in AWS?

A route table in AWS is used as a firewall to subnets, which is used to restrict the traffic. It is also used to attach an instance with the resources. In regular terms, route tables have a set of rules called routes that are used to define where the network traffic from your subnet or gateway is to be directed.
