Automation is a process in which a software or hardware entity is given the ability to do a repeated set of tasks without any sort of human intervention. In the case of AI, it has a goal to make machines and programs mimic or even supersede human intelligence in all forms. Depending on the application, Automation may or may not be based on Artificial Intelligence. However, in both cases, sensors and other commonalities in the software can bring Automation and Artificial Intelligence close. The major differences lie in the goal of each of these domains and how it plans to make tasks easier for us. Both Automation and Artificial Intelligence have numerous applications around the world, and they have been proving their muscle for quite some time. The future looks bright for both of these fields.
