How does digital marketing differ from traditional marketing?

Could someone tell what is the difference between Digital marketing and traditional marketing?

Digital marketing is advertising in digital platforms and mediums rather than physical boarding’s.

Whereas, traditional marketing refers to the conventional form of advertising without the usage of digital mediums such as billboards, placards, flexes, etc.

The only difference between the two is the platform used, Digital marketing relies on the digital medium and traditional marketing relies on tangible objects. Digital marketing is successful in reaching directly to the consumer on a personal level so, therefore effectiveness is definitely more than the traditional forms of marketing. But, still, traditional forms of marketing exist but are on a downward trend.
