No, Selenium is not RPA. They both are completely different. Selenium is a web framework that is used to automate the testing of web applications. Whereas, RPA or Robotic Process Automation is a business automation tool that is used to automate repetitive, and redundant tasks without any human intervention. Selenium is an open-source framework whereas RPA has many tools under it, which are licensed like Automation Anywhere, UiPath, Blue Prism, etc. Selenium could only be used for testing web applications, and therefore couldn’t be used in mobile applications or desktop applications. On the other hand, RPA could be used anywhere since it is platform-independent.
Selenium and RPA are in no way related to each other, so, if you wish to advance in your career with skillsets in automation, you could either of these, by enrolling in Selenium certification or RPA course from Intellipaat. Also, I would suggest you watch our YouTube video on Selenium vs RPA.
