I'm pretty new at Tableau and really struggling to create ratios of dimension attributes. In Excel it's so easy to do that. ;-).

I'm trying to get the ratio of

(MRR+MRE+MRA)/Authorisations

and then display that as a percentage.

You can easily achieve it in the tableau by just creating a Calculated field as:

  • In the Measure section Just right click

Select ->create calculated field

  • In window type the below formula and call it ratio ->click ok:

([MRR]+[MRE+MRA])/[Authorisations]

  • Just right click on pill termed as “Ratio” in measure pane
  • Go to Default Properties->Number Format-> Percentage
  • After that just drag the dimension to the filter pane and select whatever you want.
