Silos is an IT work structure, wherein, teams are divided, and have separate goals and work culture. This form of work structure seriously hampered the efficiency of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), as they were overshooting the budget because of recurring errors, crossed time-limits, eventually had many wastes (in terms of re-working, defects, etc.) DevOps was introduced to tackle and destroy this ineffective Silos work structure. And thus, this new idea of DevOps brought Development, and Operations cycle closer breeding in more efficiency, faster making time, with reduced time to market, continuous integration and continuous deployments, continuous testing are the benefits from the implementation of DevOps.
