A background in software testing is beneficial but generally not sufficient for becoming a Cloud Engineer. Cloud engineering requires additional expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, scalability, security, and various cloud services. While software testing skills can contribute to quality assurance in cloud projects, a broader skill set encompassing cloud platforms, networking, scripting, and virtualization is typically necessary for success as a Cloud Engineer.

If you are interested in pursuing a career in cloud computing but lacking skills then I would like you to consider this  aws devops certification course from Intellipaat. This course provides you with all the required skills to get into your dream field.

Along with that do check out this video on how Meda Sampath Kumar became a Cloud Engineer despite an ETL Tester with the help of Intellipaat training.
