CompTIA Security+ SY0-601 is the latest version of the CompTIA Security+ certification exam that covers five significant sectors instead of the six covered in the older version, i.e., CompTIA Security+ SY0-501.

Apart from this, the CompTIA Security+ exam objectives of the two versions also differ in some aspects, which is one of the reasons why there is a change in the number of sectors and the ratio in which questions are asked in the respective domains.
The CompTIA Security+ 601 exam consists of the same number of questions as to its former version, which is 90.
If you wish to pass the CompTIA Security Plus certification exam in a single attempt, you must attempt various Security Plus practice tests before appearing for the actual examination. This will help you get an idea of the type of questions that may be asked in the exam and will help you prepare for the same.
To pass the exam, you must score at least 750 out of 900. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions, and you have 90 minutes to complete the examination.
The pace of understanding is different for different individuals. However, generally, individuals appear for the CompTIA Security+ SY0-601 exam after studying for about 30–45 days. Before appearing for the main exam, it is recommended to take up a CompTIA Security+ practice exam or test.
The CompTIA Security+ SY0-601 certification has a 3-year validity from the date of passing the examination.
