First of all, let me tell you about both of them then you can itself decide:-

Selenium: Selenium is an open-source tool which is used to Automate Web applications which are Application under Test(AUT) in order to perform Regression Testing of applications.

Selenium is itself a suite of tools which automate web browsers in different platforms, supports many languages, runs in different operating systems. Selenium suite is a combination of four tools.

UFT / QTP: Unified Functional Testing(UTF) which was formerly known as QuickTest Professional, is very popularly known by its acronym UFT is an automation functional testing tool originally from Mercury Interactive which was acquired by Hewlett Packard (HP) in 2006. UFT is primarily used for functional, regression and service testing. Using UFT, you can automate user actions on a web or client based computer application and test the same actions for different users, different data set, on various Windows operating systems and/or different browsers.
