Is the Azure virtual machine public IP address static?

Is the public IP address assigned by Azure static or not?

The public address assigned to every Virtual Machine, in the beginning, is dynamic in nature. If, however you want it to be static specifically you'll have to change it in the settings. 

While creating a new Azure Virtual Machine. under settings -> IP address -> Static or Dynamic
