Should I use IP addresses from the Gateway Subnet in an Azure VPN?

Question

I am configuring a VPN Gateway with a site to site connectivity for a large client such that I have provided a range of address space to it (192.168.2.0/27).

The customer now wants a single IP address instead of the whole range. How will that work?

I would not suggest you use the Gateway subnet at all for this. Gateway service serves the purpose of cross-premises connectivity. The VMs are deployed in that particular gateway subnet while they're in use.
