Could someone tell me what is the difference between SQL and PL/SQL?

SQL is Data-oriented language whereas PL/SQL is an application-oriented language developed by Oracle.

PL/SQL is an extension to SQL that is used only to execute an Oracle database, and cannot be used outside.
