Distributed transactions accross Azure SQL and on premises sql server causes errors

Question

Can anyone help me is it possible to have a transaction from on premises SQL Server to Azure SQL database?

Answer 1

No, you cannot able to have a transaction from on premises to Azure SQL database as because Azure SQL database supports elastic transactions whereas on premises servers supports Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator(MSDTC). Also, you can try migrate your database either to Azure SQL or on premises.
