Both these processes Verification and Validation in Software Testing is all about ensuring that the application is built right and is functioning properly. There is a subtle difference between the two and that is, Verification is a process in which the software that is built must verify that its built-on customer or client’s needs and requirements.

Whereas Validation in Software Testing is all about, checking or validating, the built software is meeting the actual needs, of the customer or client. Verification involves reviews, walk-throughs, inspection, etc. and Validation involves unit testing, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
