Could someone tell me whether a non-technical person could do Data Science?

Yes, of course! A non-technical person could do Data Science. And as a matter of fact, anyone can become a Data Scientist, if they possess the right skill sets. I am saying this with much confidence because there have been many cases where people from all sorts of backgrounds like web developers, software engineers, math and statistics professor, history teacher, Systems Engineer, and many such incidents where one is from a completely different background, but with time, and possessing the right skill sets one can do Data Science.
