Alexa Skills Kit trigger not available on drop down in AWS Lambda

Question

I'm trying to build a simple AWS Lambda function that is triggered by the Alexa Skills Kit. I am following an Amazon made a tutorial on creating the skill, etc. Unfortunately, Alexa Skills Kit is not an option on the drop-down menu for the "Configure Triggers" window. I've attached a photo of what is available.

Is there any way to get the Alexa Skills Kit to display? Is there something wrong with my account? Any suggestions would be very helpful. I am stuck at a spot that really shouldn't be causing me any issues. I have a basic account and therefore cannot get support from Amazon.

Only in the below regions you can host ASK, other than this, if you try in any other region, it will not appear as a Trigger.

Lambda functions for custom skills can be hosted in one of these regions:

• Asia Pacific (Tokyo)
• EU (Ireland)
• US East (N. Virginia)
• US West (Oregon)
