Can anyone explain what is Reinforcement learning and its applications in AI?

Reinforcement learning is nothing but making our machines learn by themselves using rewards and punishments. For the optimal decision for that particular situation gets a reward otherwise a negative point. From these responses, the machine learns how to respond according to situations.

Reinforcement Learning is used by companies to minimize the job slow down by allocating the computer resources to waiting jobs. RL is used in traffic signal lights to solve the traffic congestion problem. RL is used in toxicity detection from different chemical structures.
