Can anyone tell me what is Apache POI in selenium?

Apache POI is a popular API for Selenium data-driven tests. It allows the programmers to create, modify, and display MS Office files like .xls and .xlsx. It is an open-source library developed by Apache Software Foundation to design or modify Microsoft Office documents.
