What is the use of edit command in Kubernetes?

Could someone tell me what is the use of Edit command in Kubernetes?

Edit command in Kubernetes allows the user to directly edit any Application Programming Interface (API) resource that they can retrieve via the command line tools. This command will open the the editor which you have set or based on the environment variable like KUBE_EDITOR, Vi or Notepad, etc.
