Site Reliability Engineering is a methodology of software development, which some companies rely on to maintain their software lifecycle. There is no guaranteed way to become an SRE Engineer, but let me give you some checkpoints to help you to reach what you aim for:

  • Acquiring a bachelor’s degree is one of the best things you could do, because most employers do require you to have a degree in computer science or any other related fields.
  • Pursue internships, certifications, and upskilling methods, to develop your technical know-how. In this regard, I would highly recommend you to get certified by Intellipaat by enrolling in their courses. As their certification adds credibility to your profile, as it's well accepted over 80 MNC’s around the globe.
  • Get sound knowledge in programming languages like C++, Java, etc. And become skillful in working with different operating systems like Linux, Windows, etc.
  • Developing automation knowledge and how to deploy them would be a good idea to progress fast in your career.
  • Having a software engineering background or skillsets will be of great relief, as you will have to work in both the development and operations side of things.

Wish to advance your career in these software lifecycle methodologies, check out the DevOps certification course from Intellipaat, to help you become a certified professional.
