Free to download and use, Hyperledger Sawtooth is an open-source project that was initially created by Intel using Intel SGX CPU instructions to implement PoET (Proof of Elapsed Time) consensus.
Later, Intel then donated it to the Hyperledger Foundation as open-source software under the Apache 2.0 license. Developers from companies (including Intel) and individuals who are members of the Hyperledger community contribute to the Sawtooth project.
