Could someone tell me how do I learn statistics for data science? And what statistics book do you recommend to a wannabe data scientist who is familiar with basic statistics and mathematics?

Intellipaat has a 7-hour long video tutorial on YouTube explaining all the statistics concepts in depth that are crucial to Data Science like sampling, randomization, distribution, bias, etc.

Additionally, you could refer to the following Statistics books to explore more:

  • Practical Statistics for Data Scientists by Peter Bruce

  • Statistics by Robert S. Witte and John S. Witte

  • Barron’s AP Statistics, 8th Edition by Martin Sternstein, PhD

  • Head First Statistics: A Brain-Friendly Guide

  • Statistics for Business and Economics by James T. McClave, P. George Benson and Terry T Sincich

  • Naked Statistics: Stripping the Dread from the Data by Charles Wheelan

  • OpenIntro Statistics by David M Diez, Mine Çetinkaya-Rundel, and Christopher D Barr

Rather than focusing on Statistics for Data Science, one should approach statistics holistically for an effective learning experience.
