The function of SQL servers is to store, retrieve and process data from a database. This is achieved by providing a reliable and scalable platform for managing the data in a database.

SQL Server is basically an enterprise-class relational database management system (RDBMS) that provides complete support for the Structured Query Language (SQL) as well as a variety of advanced features such as:

  • Data modification, manipulation, and management

  • Indexes, triggers and stored procedures

  • Replication of data to other servers

Above is only a rough idea about the function of SQL servers, but if you want to learn more about SQL and all its components along with its role in becoming a database administrator, then it is recommended to go for Intellipaat’s SQL DBA training that comes with a lot of benefits.
