T2 instances are used for providing the baseline performance of the CPU which can burst above the baseline when necessary. It is a low-cost, general-purpose instance type, with an on-demand starting price of $0.0058 per hour. It is used for other general-purpose applications like development, virtual desktops, micro-services, build & stage environments, product prototypes, and code repositories.
