Does azure data factory uses data catalog services?

I'm planning to use Azure Data Factory for the ETL process, I'd like to know if Azure Data Factory is using the Data Catalog  captured metamodel.

You can not actually reuse Metadata stored directly in Azure Data Factory's Azure Data Catalog. You can try to reuse some of the metadata by using the Rest API to retrieve data assets.

But I think setup in Azure Data Factory would be quicker. Be aware that Data Factory's main focus is on movement and orchestration, too. For Big Data transformations, you will use e. g. Databricks activities, for "classic" ETL integrate SSIS.
