Sentiment analysis is mainly used in social media monitoring to understand the opinions of the people on certain topics. Sentiment analysis is used to extract insights from social data is a practice that is being used by many organizations all over the world.

It is proved that shifts in sentiment on social media is correlating with the shifts in the stock market. For the 2012 presidential elections of the US, the Obama administration used sentiment analysis to gain an overview of public opinion to policy announcements and campaign messages.

Sentiment Analysis allows us to quickly understand the sentiment behind everything from forum posts to news articles that help to strategize and plan for the future.

Sentiment Analysis helps to understand the opinions of people on new releases of products or services and also to understand what they think about your competitors too.
