A data scientist should have strong knowledge of analytics to enhance customer engagement, automation resulting in cost optimization, or business process optimization saving time and labor. A data scientist needs to have a strong business acumen to understand the business's needs and develop analytics to achieve the objectives but no need for business leadership skills.
