Yes, people are still using FTP (file transfer protocol) sites to send and receive files. The original FTP is unencrypted and it was not designed according to today’s more advanced security standards. Although there are numerous alternatives to FTP, many companies continue to use FTP to share files because it has been there for more than 25 years and secondly, companies are not aware of the risks of sharing un-secure data.
