Well, this depends on your field of study and the type of problem you want to solve. Machine learning is a subset of artificial intelligence A.I, whereas Deep Learning is a subset of machine learning.
Machine learning requires fewer algorithms, data, and hardware to identify the solution, whereas Deep Learning requires higher data and hardware to get the job done. It will be effective if you study Deep Learning after Machine Learning and not the other way around.
