How to safely upgrade an Amazon EC2 instance from t1.micro to large?

I want to upgrade my Amazon EC2 micro (t1.micro) instance to large. Please help.

• This can be done using an AWS management console:

1. Right click on the instance
2. Go to Instance Life cycle and then on Stop
3. Wait for sometime
4. Now, click on Instance Management and then on Change Instance Type

• Another way is to create a snapshot of the current image. You'll now see it as an option when launching new instances. Now, you can launch it as a large instance.
