There are many users around the world who don’t want to completely shift from Windows to Linux OS and want to still use Linux by staying inside the windows ecosystem. And here are few solutions in how to run Linux commands on Windows listed below:

  • Use Bash Shell on Windows, thanks to the Windows Subsystem (WSL) for Linux that allows you to run Linux within Windows.
  • With the help of Cygwin, an open-source and free software you could write Linux commands in Windows.
  • Git for Windows offers you a set of tools like Git Bash which allows you to run Linux commands in Windows.
  • If the above doesn’t satisfy you, you could go for virtualization, and then run Linux on Windows. But this solution to be effective, you need to have a good amount of performance to meet the needs.
