Well, not quite really. Software engineering is neither tougher nor easier than data science. Both domains demand a different skillset for operating. A typical Software Engineer requires a good command of coding skills. He/she should be having sound knowledge in SQL, Python, C, etc. Whereas, a data scientist requires a commanding knowledge in Math, data collection, and analysis for a better understanding of their job. They also require software knowledge for their domain like Python or R, and also there is a huge demand for machine learning as a skill.

Well, both the domain suits better for different sections of people. Those who prefer to work within the guidelines and structure well be the best fit for Software engineering and those who like a big pile of unstructured data, to clean these big datasets to obtain insights, would definitely love the job as Data Scientists.

If you are willing to learn Data Science and become a certified professional, then have a look at the Data Science course from Intellipaat offers you online instructor-led training and guided projects to help you obtain the required practical exposure.
