Is it a good time to start a data science journey now? I'm hearing some negative statements?

Could someone guide me on a data science journey and whether this is the right time to start since I heard some negative comments about this field?

Data Science is still in demand and will be in the future as established by many experts in the field. But as technology is evolving at a rapid pace, there have been changes in the requirement by organizations as well when it comes to Data Science. 

Data Science professionals are expected to be proficient in new-age technologies like advanced statistical tools, data visualisation, quantitative methods, machine learning, amongst a few others. When the skill gap increases, it results in a shortage in the market. So, companies started hiring based mainly on individual requirements and portfolios as opposed to certain qualifications. Therefore, it is now very essential to be well experienced in personal projects that you can showcase.

Data Science professionals are also required to show certain business acumen as well as great communication skills. The key is to always keep upskilling. Now is as good a time as any to start your Data Science journey and do it in the right way. Don’t encourage a stagnant situation for yourself and always stay updated on the latest technology to stay ahead of the competition.
