Azure site recovery can protect a variety of workloads, including:

  • Virtual machines running on VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization platforms.

  • Physical servers running Windows or Linux operating systems.

  • Applications that are part of a virtual machine.

  • Workloads running on Microsoft Azure virtual machines.

  • Workloads running on AWS EC2 virtual machines.

In the case of a disaster or planned outage, Azure Site Recovery offers continuous replication of these workloads to a backup location, enabling quick failover and recovery. Additionally, it offers scheduling and automation features to make the failover and failback procedures simpler, requiring less time and effort to return services to their previous state.
