One of the gaps in Kubernetes is that it moves so fast, best practices and documentation can be out of date in 12–18 months. Looking at the technical foundation and the core components are solid. Mainly the gaps are around specific components such as storage and federation. The developers are working in these areas, but currently, there is not any way to do common things like take a backup of a volume and restore it for true stateful workloads like a database.
