Restoring EC2 from a snapshot

Question

I deleted my EC2 instance by mistake but had saved its snapshot earlier. Is there any way to retrieve my instance from that snapshot?

Yes, in fact, AWS offers the functionality to relaunch an instance from a saved snapshot. It can be done using the following steps :

1) Create an AMI from the EBS snapshot 

2) Mention Name, description, and remember to opt for hardware-assisted virtualization 

3) Your image has now been created, click on the image ID

4) Choose the created AMI and click on launch. Follow the steps to launch an EC2 instance as shown here.

Your EC2 instance has now been restored!
