What is coding?

I have been listening to this word very frequent. What exactly is coding?

Coding is nothing but writing a set of instructions that computers can understand. These instructions executed step by step. We use English, Hindi to communicate with people. Similarly, we use the coding languages to communicate with machines. We use different coding languages depends on the purpose. Python and C are the easy coding languages to start with.
