What is Azure Cosmos DB account?

Can anyone explain the Azure Cosmos DB account and how to create the Cosmos DB account?

Azure Cosmos DB account is the basic unit for the global distribution of the data across Azure regions. Azure regions can be changed anytime in the Cosmos DB account.

We can create Azure cosmos DB account following these steps:

Step 1: Sign in to Azure portal

Step 2: Click on the ‘New’ option on the top right corner of the page

Step 3: Click on Data + Storage and choose Azure DocumentDB in the drop-down

Step 4: Write the name of the Account name and choose new_resource in Resource group

Step 5: Select the location where you want this account to be hosted

Step 6: Select pin to dashboard button and Click create button to create Cosmos DB account
