Qualitative data in Data science is nothing but the categorical data in statistics. It is called categorical data because the qualitative data can be divided into categories. Qualitative data is non-numerical data and Quantitative data means numerical data.

There are two types of Qualitative data such as nominal data and ordinal data. Nominal data is just the categories of data and they do not have any quantitative value.

Example: Gender (Male or Female), Location (Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, etc.)

Ordinal data is categorical data but categories in data follow a scale or order.

Example: High, Moderate, and Low
