Doubts on AMI copy

Question

I have created ami,in one region and took of ami copy to new region and when launching an ami, do i need to create a new key pair, can't i select existing key pair?

Here you can copy the AMI to a different region in aws but the key pairs should be created in that region itself. Key-pair is region locked. you cannot use the keypair in one region to another region.
