Diagnostic analytics is the analysis of the historical data and provides insights into why something happened in the past. For example, in healthcare diagnostic analytics analyses the data and look for the correlations in the data to determine the symptoms of the patients.

Predictive analytics helps to predict the most likely outcome to occur in the future based on historical data. In healthcare example, predictive analytics is used to forecast the spread of the disease according the historical data of patients.
