I have a category multiselect field which I'm importing, which has multiple values separated by a comma:

Agriculture, Microfinance, Peace Building

My primary instinct is to split each value into a separate column using text functions, but I'm wondering if there's a better, easier way of doing this?

  • Go to Power BI and click on “edit queries”, then a new window will be opened which is also called Power Query Editor

  • Before splitting the columns, you can duplicate the column by selection “Duplicate Column” option

  • To split the columns in the table, right-click on a column that you want to spit will open the context menu, select “split columns” and then select by “delimiter” option.
