Angular JS was released in 2010 and is based on JavaScript. It is a front-end web framework that is open-sourced and developed by Google. A subsequent update to it was renamed as Angular 2. Because the team that developed Angular JS is the team that’s behind the development of Angular. Angular is again an open-source web application framework that is based on TypeScript and not JavaScript. That’s the reason they changed Angular JS to just Angular. Angular is a complete rewrite or revised edition of Angular JS.
